Work

 

Andrea's work is concerned with the role of the body and its image within our circuits of desire – with the borders between the intimate and the public, the imaginary and the real, and between virtual and physical space.

 

As with new technologies we can now be in two places at once, her work asks: how is this disembodiment changing us? How do we now see and look at each other, and what do we mean to each other?

 

The work intends to re-think this looking at the body and its image, and to explore our associated objectifications and desires; as well as to ask in these places; imaginary, private or intimate, whether in the collective or as a public, as a performer or as an audience: who is the other? What are the limits? What are the possibilities?
